Ipeh shows the clove trees as silenced witnesses of the Hongi Tochten. She searches for ways to let the trees mouth the colonial history of the devastating expeditions carried out by the VOC in the Moluccas. In order to control the spice trade.

During her residency she will collect stories, sounds, and images, translating them into a sound installation in which she will return the ‘voices’ to the clove trees, the former silent witnesses of the devastations.
