System: We4Moria
Project: Ein Wochenende für Moria
Date: November 2021 till December 2022
Ein Wochenende für Moria (A Weekend For Moria) was an iterative solidarity camp in a pursuit to end the EU‘s human rights violations at its external border and liberate refugee and other displaced people from their miserable situation. Therefore, every weekend citizens were setting up their tents in front of the Tyrolean State Theatre of Innsbruck.
What started with just two tents around Christmas 2020, became a nation-wide movement in which different individuals joined forces with NGOs and other human rigths organisations. Having been part of the camp in Innsbruck from the beginning, I helped develop different aesthetic strategies, created various artistic interventions and supported the group in questions of self-organisation. During that time, various collaborations with local performers, musicians, poets, photographers and designers took place, thereby activating the potential of public space as an arena for dissent and encounter in times of social distancing.
