I was organising and co-curating two excursions for contributors of Neuwirt both as a team-building activity and a chance to discover a similar cultural organisation in the Alpine region. Doing so, our journey brought us to Somalgors74 in Tschlin, Switzerland and La Foresta in Rovereto, Italy.

In Tschlin, we were participating in a workshop led by Curdin Tones, Jeroen van Westen and Thea van der Geest during which we discovered the surrounding Alpine landscape with our nose. This workshop was followed by a guided tour through the village of Tschlin and the cultural organisation that Curdin Tones started in 2016 together with inhabitants of the village. The day ended with a collective reflection round and a shared dinner on open fire before returning back to Wattens, Austria.

In Rovereto, we were getting a guided tour through La Foresta followed by a facilitated exchange of experiences around home-made vegan lunch. After spending the night at Il Masetto, a mountain hut in the Terragnolo valley, we embarked on a hike with Bianca Elzenbaumer to take about historic and contemporary commoning practices and land management. The hike also gave us a chance to collect wild herbs and turn them into pesto as a little snack in-between inspired conversations.
