During this workshop series, inhabitants of Wattens and the surrounding region were invited to imagine the future of the “Gasthaus” (inn) in order to create ideas and initiatives to be realised in the framework of Neuwirt. Doing so, each workshop session informed the next, eventually leading up to a series of concrete project proposals. In the first workshop, I was guiding participants through a dream-journey searching their own memories and activating their imaginative potentials in the present light. Through sharing and graphically recording the participant’s experience after, we were creating to foundations for the following workshops in which we explored local food systems through joint readings, mapping exercises and presentations of good practice examples.
